Divorce will be a lot more than you bargained for, although I realize that there are some people who do need to be apart for very extreme reasons, especially in abuse of power matters.
You're entering an area where you have very little control or predictability. You have to hope that both of you, and both your lawyers, will be reasonable, practical and mature. Hold fast to your friends and relatives. You'll need their support.
Above all, keep the children out of it. Even if you divorce, you're still a family, and the parents have to present a united front to the children.
